It really looks much better with those rollover score reels. I've never seen an EM version in the wild but I've read about the microprocessor fear period.

Also the reason some of the crossover games kept the chime units even though the MPU could produce replacement sounds. I don't know whether you've ever seen it but Ken Thompson (the guy who wrote Unix) learnt about logic states from breaking into EM pinball machines and stealing the schematics!
