Go's build system AFAIK only downloads go.mod files first. I'm fairly certain I mentioned this on the mailing list when the topic of importers came up. It's another reason why I think reimplementing every language's package management in Guile is a bad idea, Guix should just reuse Go's packaging libraries.",
