Fedi mystery solved - http signatures were seen as invalid on my GtS instance from my Mastodon instance. After much thoughtful investigation and curling, I just decided to delete the mastodon instance actor account from GtS database - and that fixed it.
GtS grabbed the new signature and all was well. My keys haven't changed so....?????
