I ran nostrgen on a 10 core i5 before I realized that wouldn't cut it. Upgraded to an i9 32 core, and ran that at 100% usage for a week or two until something interrupted the process. Got it running in a VM, snapshotting daily, was able to run it for about 1.5 months before I finally gave in. At 10 characters, at the speed it was going, it ended up being about 44 years to complete. DOH! 6 characters only takes a few days time, so not bad. Wild how fast exponentials adds up.
