It's subjective I know, but me, I like a bit of colour! I think what bothers me about this is one, they act like it is morally superior/classier to be like this, and two I know at least two women, possibly three, although the latter is a bit odd herself, who appear to me to being made to live in a miserable desert of a house because their husband's appear to be terrified of colour and things, and in the case of one of them he has a collecting habit more associated with crazy old ladies who have a boot sale habit and no taste. Actually, think of the description of Nanny Ogg and all the tacky ornaments, that's him and it is all and only him, and she is marooned in the middle of it. Then again, she went there, she has form, me, I want to kill him! One of the others is OBSESSED with cleaning, yet they have 2 big clarty dogs, everything is beige, and spaces look empty. She is arty or was, I almost had a jaw drop first time saw their house, and subsequent one, other friend said I think it's him, and I suspect she is. Not being the sort of woman willing to be subsumed by a man this rankles with me 👹 Next door don't even have pictures or ornaments and the walls are magnolia.
