gyptazy (npub1qw7…q0ue) Fair enough. I guess it depends on your business model. If you're looking to make money *directly* from your content, then those platforms that will display ads during your videos, and pay you for the ads your viewers watch and interact with, are pretty much your only option.

If your business model involves making videos that direct people to your OTHER content, products, or services, from where you want them to spend money, then the fediverse might be a viable option for you, because the quality of the people on here might just outweigh the sheer quantity you'll get from those other platforms[*].

Of course, even if it's the latter, the prospect of earning some extra cash on the side, directly from people watching your videos, is hard to pass up.

[*] At least for now. It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation, isn't it? Content creators won't come here because we don't have two billion users. And uses won't join en masse because their favourite content creators are still on TikTok and Instagram.

All we need is a couple of "million-follower" creators and influencers to make the switch. Their followers will come with them (even if only 10% of their followers who decide to come with them), and it'll snowball. Other creators will see that the fediverse is viable, so they'll switch and bring 10% of *their* followers with them, and so on.

That's my dream for this place! :-)
