I don't think it's tech that loves fascism so much as wealth that loves it.
The hacker community has always been pretty leftish and a lot of the early tech industry came out of (or co-opted) that, hence the expectation of leftish values there. The tech culture of the last couple of decades is, I claim, largely due to finance bros figuring out how to rebrand themselves as techbros.
The CEO of Proton is not your friend but the sysadmins who work there probably are.
