If you are considering adding more location services in addition to the feed in the future, maybe add a toggle under privacy to enable and disable location services (enabling would remove the Around You feed and any other items as options).
I know Android prompts you to enable locations, but this would be an extra line of defense for those worried about accidentally leaving location on or something like that. Just my 2 unsolicited cents to keep privacy.
