I have vague memories of news reporting of extra security measures taken whenever Israeli sport teams competed or played across Europe. Back then this was due to the threat of straight up terrorist acts.
The perpetrators being, of course, islamists.
Now I'm hearing reports of indiscriminate mob violence against local and visiting Jews in Europe, when an Israeli sport team visits to play an away game.
The perpetrators are, again, islamists.
Except this time it's not some small, selected terrorist cells committing individual violent acts. It's entire mobs, drawn from the wider local muslim population.
And for some reason, the fact that it's such mobs, seems to make it more, not less likely, that the authorities and self-identified leftists either excuse or ignore the violence.
Being "nice" and understanding towards islamists does not make them see sense and realise they need to be part of society like everyone else. It clearly merely encourages them.
At some point, there will have to be a crack-down. That is inevitable. The only question is by whom, and when. The longer the present governments and authorities refuse to take strong measures against islamist crime and violence, the more likely it is that some up-and-coming law-and-order party will get into government and do it instead.
That, or anti-islamist mobs will form to counter the violence, and then there will be open war on the streets.
Bottom line: islamism has no place in a civilised society.
