MORNING WORKOUT: RECOVERY FOCUS
Ten minutes of slow club swinging and some stretching. And that's it lol
Last night I had a super tough workout for martial arts, involving thousands of strikes...literally, a few thousand reps in minimal time. My entire body is very, very, very sore, especially in small and critical areas. My intercostals, serratus muscles, hip flexors, ankles, the small muscles around the knee and the shoulder girdle, all these feel like they went through a blender.
Are my larger muscles fresh enough to work out? Sure. But strength starts with the smaller muscles and the stabilizers, so with these out of commission I would be begging for an injury. If you ever get that same feeling, maybe after a long hike or something, I advise you skip the hard workout and spend that time on active recovery instead.
