Um, thinking cynically, if you were to be seen heading for the wine cask at breakfast, drinking and driving would be off limits 🤣 you would need another with lunch!
Btw if that MIL situation does involve draining your life savings, fgs get a lawyer to draft up the agreement PRIOR yo a cent exchanging, to make sure you have first draw on the deceased estate. This may sound hard-hearted, but I have seen people lose out when it comes time for hotch potch payments to be accounted for. You need protections in place, and preferably with the siblings getting a copy. Otherwise, it must be attached to the Will by MIL’s solicitor.
