yeah, god I couldn’t. Low-level work like that just isn’t for me but I still have to do it (I serve food). It feels like you’re stuck in purgatory. There’s no long term growth, every shift is the same shit and it hardly feels gratifying anymore. A genuine thank you from a nice group of white people is nice but it doesn’t change that tomorrow there will be a group of annoying browns.
What sucks is I know somebody’s gotta do it. I just don’t want it to be me anymore. I got a degree and have done my time in the restaurant industry. But utterly demoralized trying to find real work.
