This is not a fully-formed thought yet, but I think there’s something about the creative process that is fundamentally incompatible with capitalism.

Like I think all artists have struggled at some point with the tension between the idea they have in their head vs what they are able to actually execute. “Ideas are cheap.”

But the capitalist class has to maintain the fiction that ideas are valuable, because otherwise they contribute nothing.
