Today's SECOND literal Bug of the Day (or BONUS bug, if you prefer) is this adult Spotted Lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) that I saw on the same hike with the grasshopper a couple of days ago.

I did two different Spotted Lanternfly entries last year, both in adult and nymph form. They are notorious invasive pests from Asia. I haven't seen as many this year.

Like the grasshopper, I also gently poked this bug with my finger a bit and got it to fly off. I then continued on my hike.
