Musings on 2025 as we close out 2024.
On the one hand, it's an arbitrary number on an arbitrary day. For the earth as a whole, very much like the day before. But since we give it significance, it is as real as money or love or any other shared subjective experience.
I'm worried, but we will endure, because we must, and there will be room for joy too. These don't cancel out. They coexist. And our brains and hearts have trouble holding the two outcomes at the same time.
