The first time I went to a real post facility in LA was in the 2000s, and I was shocked to see that the (Avid) editor was actually using a Mac running System 9.
This wasn’t an aberration.
Having spent years with FCP7 running on OSX, made me feel like I had just traveled backward from the future.
