Not much system design involved. Organic component swithc. Was really cumbersome to define shadows in metacity/safish/sawmill(?) and when client side decorations came and was real easy with gtk, we did. My biggest pet peeve in the space is using the shadow to define the active area for windows size adjustment. Super painful on its own but even more so when it differens depending on what is drawing the window.",
