Interesting. I came across two "diy smartphone" companies on a search that look like never got off the ground, Seedstudio Rephone and kiteboard.io. There is a video on youtube of a guy using a raspiblitz to build a phone 4 years ago. Guess what would be needed is an eccentric, but rich, tech entrepreneur who sees an opportunity to get the nostrola rolling!
