One issue with mastodon is it’s impossible to perceive traffic in Google Analytics and similar, as Mastodon takes technical steps to hide referrer info, on top of the inherent complexity of the many clients and web domains involved.
We need to let go of numbers entirely, which is a difficult, or maybe genuinely unreasonable, demand on orgs that rely on metrics to validate their work.
