#NCP
During a short vacation I took this past long weekend, I brought my trusty Mont Blanc rollerball pen to take notes and just have with me. I've written about this pen before. It was a grad gift from my Mum back in '97 when I graduated from UBC. I still don't know how she could afford it at the time, it was pretty expensive. I've probably written a million words with this pen.
The pen broke - snapped at the barrel - somehow in my slim briefcase during this trip. I was heartbroken because it's one of the few keepsakes I have of my Mum, who passed away from cancer in 2004. Nearly every time I use the pen, I think about her.
I wrote about the pen breaking elsewhere, and a local watch collector and repair expert in Victoria reached out to me to offer to fix it. I just dropped the pen off with him, and he's confident he can repair it. Would not even consider taking payment for his work. He's a long time reader of our website, said he's learned a lot from us, and wanted to give me something back for that.
Wow. 😂
