I mean, technologically, Nostr is better but I find I have WAY better discussions on a much broader spectrum of topics when on X. Here, 99% of the conversation is Bitcoin and among those conversations, 99.999% is from maxi cultists that I can't fathom talking to, especially given the fact that I'm a BTC ally who is unable to actually buy any BTC.
It's primarily just "GM", "PV", "hodl" and "Bitcoin fixes this". Can't blame people for not wanting that. I try to post and share content that doesn't fall under that umbrella but it's tough when a supermajority covers the same topic, often in obnoxiously cultish ways.
And yes, I'm also biased because of my experiences. I've had several times where I got into discussions about my personal reasons for being unable to truly get into BTC (beyond zaps) and every time, without fail, I end up with maxi mobs swarming my notes, at first seemingly trying to help, then quickly fizzling out into insults and gaslighting. Worse still, if I present genuine issues with BTC or the BTC scene, those insults grow.
At least on X, I find great discussions about traditionalism, tea, Japan, books, games and the like. It's only natural I'd end up spending most of my time where I find good discussions that appeal to me. It just sucks that those discussions occur on a platform that is technologically inferior, because I am a huge fan of decentralized tech.
