eh, this is wrong. the New York Times has always been a conservative institution that is primarily concerned with courting and flattering power. if that appeals to “normies,” fine, but this isn’t some sea change in the NYT identity. anyone else remember Judith Miller? the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq? the coverage of the Trump White House? Her E-mails? the editorial stance against gay marriage? that’s always been the NYT, as an institution.
