Guevedoces are male children with a DSD (5ARD) that are misidentified as female at birth. When their sex becomes apparent at puberty, they grow up as boys and then live as men. Their situation is due to a medical misidentification.
The phenomenon has a specific name in the Dominican Republic due to population bottlenecks in some villages there.
With all due respect, this is a fairly offensive attitude towards a medical condition.
Guevedoces are not a gender identity and they're not a quirky gotcha to use in a political argument. They're people, specifically boys and later men, with a medical condition.
And this is true of all DSDs. All DSDs are sex specific. Only males have certain DSDs, and only females can have others. They do not constitute "gender identities" and have no relation to the broader gender debate.
