Sofia (nprofile…vtsg) a decade ago it was better than it is now in most ways. Not for game compatibility, but in most others. I used it as my main or only desktop from about 2002/3 to around 2015, when I started playing a lot of games again. It was still pretty OK for a while after that, but now everything is fucked, with the mess of competing portable package formats and WMs/DEs/compositors and X/Wayland. As well as the “portal” situation, and some roughness with the pipewire transition (the last is the most minor, and I think should clear up pretty soon). Butyeah, no, terrible time to jump in.
