The conventional interpretation of “pearls before swine” is to not waste your time trying to relay a profound truth to people who are too stupid to appreciate it. But I think there’s another possible interpretation: If you’re speaking to someone from a position of relative privilege, the advice you give simply might not be useable to them, and your “nuggets of wisdom” are going to come off as insult, because it’s you who’s failing to appreciate the condition of the person you’re talking to.
