I AWAKE

I awake in the morning
so upset and distressed
to a world full of mayhem
so confused and so messed.

The sun through my window
so bright comes to heal
but the weight of the chaos
is all that I feel.

Each step feels uncertain
each breath heavy sigh
as I wander in shadows
under our earth troubled sky.

I pray that the turmoil
will soon take its flight
for a whisper of hope
for a glimmer of light.
 
I rise in deep sorrow
seek calm from the storm
and wish for infusion
of new hopes to be born.
