My next addition will be either for root veggies (like potatos) or for peppers and tomatoes using a passive reservoir kratky-plus system.
One thing I would encourage is NEVER to approach this as an all or nothing. No one ever builds a system that replaces all food right away. Instead, start small - a single grow shelf or even a single container - and build up as you have time and budget to build up. Once built, it takes incredibly little time to maintain.
I'm saving $150 a month right now with just my one shelf. As I build more and more, I save more and more.
