After mentioning how Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, and food stamps supposedly takes up much of the federal budget, Senator Rand Paul (R, KY) said “there should be a work requirement on every check that goes out,” (so that must also apply retired folks receiving Medicare and Social Security benefits they paid into over their working lifetimes, since he said “every” check).
He then said that people get their self-esteem through work.
