My take on the drama around this release:
CyberwarriorX, one of the two individuals working on the original translation project, is being a fucking crybaby. It was released under GPL 2.0 before being worked on privately. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube for the older, public version. You fucked around and now you found out. Put out your decade old better version or shut up about it.
