Fun fact: because they are dynamic, every user gets a different background color. (Except when cached of course).
So basically the price is encoded in the image URL in the node. The image API just renders what is asked, it doesn't have a price feed. It was a bit of a mind bender to get there, coming from the twitter API. But when leveraged properly, that can be very interesting.
