Why are you deliberately hamstringing putting the fiction first like that? Maybe stress is not the best complication to bring into play here.

Maybe you've kicked off somebody's awareness and shown your hand too early. Maybe you've learned things that you really shouldn't have. Maybe you've kicked off a clock that's counting down until your bosses discover you've done some unpleasant things to mitigate this risk.

This move is simultaneously too specific and not flexible enough. I can only assume it's supposed to be part of a playbook, but that makes it even worse since characters use various gather info moves all the time to mitigate risk. In fact, anything that resists damage mitigates risk even if that damage is only narrative positioning.
