Two days later, he came home from school, grabbed a butter knife and a bowl, and got to work. A little while later, there were two of the best-carved pumpkins I’d ever seen. It’s funny—kids don’t need more stuff to be happy. Sometimes, giving them the chance to figure things out is all it takes.
