as much of my TL seems to be about opt in versus opt out consent and the BS bridge this morning, it might be worth pointing out that from my perspective as someone who has to obtain consent as a precondition of empirical work, it seems odd to dismiss concerns about consent on the grounds that people have consented to *something else* ('most of the fediverse is opt-out'). Consent, taken seriously, is specific.
