My dad died from Parkinson’s almost a decade ago. We talked and prayed together on the phone every day for years and it was so hard to hear him slipping away but that connection with him shaped my life. I cherish the relationship I still am able to have with my mom all the more because I have that sense of the finality of life. We’re truly only here for a little while.
