I was initially thinking it was just shitcoiners doing shitcoin things, but as I've thought more I'm convinced it is an attack, and it's a pretty clever one. 3 pronged attack, speedy trial, ordinal "theory", then inscriptions.
Speedy Trial - pump the narrative that taproot is great, non contentious, everyone already agrees just push it through.
Ordinal theory - If "we" can make people think that ord software can track individual satoshis, then fungibility is done, privacy is gone, and "we" can play shitcoiner bingo withe each sat.
Inscriptions - get ord "aware" wallets in everyone's hands so they can NFT on Bitcoin, stuff garbage data on timechain, make it so "we" need to regulate the chain...
The theory is the biggest threat to the ethos of Bitcoin imo, but inscriptions are the vector to get people on onboard with it.
