Until recently my sister owned 3 houses and rented out two of them and when the interest rates increased the agents who were managing her two rented properties told my sister she could increase her tenants rent by a few hundred pounds and my sister knowing her tenants would not be able to afford those new increases decided to sell her two houses instead .. plus the one she lived in herself & now she lives in a smaller property with no mortgage to pay or rents to worry about & that is what a lot of private land lords have done
