I remember 10+ years ago a technician at Swedish Public Radio was training us journalists on the full mixer board. He was trying to teach all these capabilities we could do.

And I just concentrated on not learning those - because I knew I'd get confused. I just wanted to learn a path through all the options that would allow me to cue jingles, fade music in and out and play the right report at the right time. I didn't need to know how to filter.
