#Fall #Poetry #RobertFrost #weather
Another step toward winter: the first morning when birdbaths and watering bowls have a layer of ice.
This day always reminds me of Robert Frost’s “After Apple-Picking.”
Excerpt:
I cannot rub the strangeness from my sight
I got from looking through a pane of glass
I skimmed this morning from the drinking trough
And held against the world of hoary grass.
