Because we don't call them WWII museums (well - except the one in New Orleans & another in Colorado Springs). They are named for whatever big ship (Intrepid, Alabama, etc.) is the focus of the museum.
I will also note a few other museums (e.g., Museum of Flight, National Museum of the USAF) have sizable WWII sections as well.
