The simplicity of nostr reminds me a lot of IRC. In some sense beyond the protocol even. Despite its comparable shortcomings, the IRC era was in some ways the most interesting period of the early internet. Turns out if you connect enough pseudonymous users around arbitrary topics of interest you get a lot of collaboration and innovation. I hope this is ushers a new wave of that.
