I genuinely don't get how conservatives don't abandon their belief system the minute it tells them to hate and hurt their own children. Like there just isn't anything comparable on the left to a conservative parent kicking their child out or beating them just because they're gay or trans. Some parents are abusive and that's just how it is but how do you create systematic abuse on such a scale? I will never understand how these people think
