I have a love/hate relationship with being a manager. On one hand, I love helping and watching the people I support grow in skills, knowledge, and confidence. On the other hand, it's exhausting when EVERY conversation has some form of, "oh, I didn't think of that," or "now you've gotten me thinking about these other things."

I would think that after multiple years working with these same people that there would be an overall reduction in the "ah ha" moments as folks grew beyond the need for my help. Either I'm growing at the same rate, or we're all just stuck in a repeating pattern of dumb.
