I went with Zotero in the end because (1) my primary use-case is general bookmarking; (2) Juris-M's extra features look welcome and I hope they make it into Zotero, but I don't think I NEED them; and (3) absent a more compelling reason for my use-case, I prefer to go with the base application instead of a fork, especially since I'm using Arch User Repository packages.
