I don't mind being absolutely sleepless for hours in the middle of the night, but is it too much to ask that I at least being be feverishly painting an inspired masterpiece of art, or writing a life-changing award winning novel, the kind in the film bio of my life where they would show me with messy artist hair, luminous eyes, writing by candlelight, taking dramatic sips of whiskey?

Instead, I am eating a cookie watching a true crime show. It doesn't seem worth it.
