So the good folks at #SBB in Basel found me a solution, although a bad one: IC 3 to Zurich, and from there EC 323 to Milan. This comes at an extra two hours, plus one exchange. The two hours will then likely become 3, because by the time I get to Milan the last Italo to Reggio Emilia will have left and I will have to catch a Trenitalia Intercity.
