The whole tampons in school bathrooms thing that Republicans are frantically trying to get people mad about reminds me that there’s a trans kid in my daughter’s incoming 7th grade class. She’s been open about her gender for at least the last two school years, and has received nothing but total support from the schools and her classmates. We’re lucky to live in an area where people are generally mortified by the idea of turning vulnerable kids into political punching bags.
