The scary truth about our society is that our quiet enjoyment of life is dependent on unspoken, jointly agreed upon fictions that prevent us from exercising the maximum of our abilities. Our son has unfortunately discovered that bedtime is a ruse and that there is functionally no penalty for violating this hallowed tradition. I fear for the peace of our household.
