Good news, everyone - this week, we applied to incorporate as a federal non-profit organization. This is the first step to becoming a charitable organization.

It wasn't cheap, and it will result in overhead in accounting costs, but many have been demanding it for years. Doing this right requires a lawyer, which we've retained thanks to financial commitments from our community and reductions in cloud costs.

I'm told this process could take about a month to ratify.
