The cops here in sf basically went on a wildcat strike and extorted the city govt who were all too happy to go back to “tough on crime” talk when the opportunity presented itself. But I think there is a fundamental problem with how we approach political change now and I think it has to do with 1) our lack of social institutions (unions, churches, etc) and 2) the way that social media makes people really mad but quickly moves from topic to topic.",
