I have a theory about the Walter Isaacson Musk bio (having read excerpts but not the book itself): There is something about the form of the great man tome that can't capture the weirdness/insanity of the man – or our current moment. It's analogous to a lot of New York Times reporting, and the language employed – I don't mean it's biased or equivocating (though it can be) but that it operates from a set of staid assumptions about the stability of society and institutions (including publishing)
